THE THEORETICAL PLOT OF THE INTEGRATION OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL AND ETHNOGRAPHIC RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF RECONSTRUCTION OF RELIGIOUS AND MYTHOLOGICAL IDEAS

The work contains a theoretical plot related to the integration of archaeological and ethnographic research in the field of reconstruction of religious and mythological representations of ancient and medieval societies. Modern knowledge about the irrational views of the taiga peoples of Western Siberia, their religious and ceremonial practices, and especially about attributes suggest a more correct approach to reconstruction. It is based not so much on the external similarity of images, as on their content, which was recognizable and understood by the archaic consciousness. Thus, the Ob Ugrians realized the images of the characters of biblical plots as images peculiar to their religious and mythological system. The semantics of the cult metalplastics of early Iron and the Middle Ages of the taiga zone does not need a reconstructive interpretation. This was done by indigenous peoples who used ancient products in their religious and ceremonial practice.
